Obituary in the Baton Rouge Advocate, Monday 13 Dec 1965, p 10. Notes the death of Mrs. Mathilde Songy, widow of Eugene Olide Abadie, at her home in Wallace, LA, Sunday 13 Dec 1965 at age 95 years. She was a native of St John the Baptist Parish, LA, and a resident of Wallace, LA. Survived by 5 sons, Amedee, Raymond. Wallace, Robert and Lester Abadie, 5 daughters, Mrs Elie Schexnayder, Miss Simone Abadie, Mrs Harry Braud, Mrs Samuel Powers, and Mrs Rene Tassin. Also 66 grandchildren, 189 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Sister of Mrs Blanche Landaiche. Services at St John the Baptist Church, Edgard, LA, with interment in Church cemetery.

Four additional children preceded her in death: Benoit, Ferdinand, and Clement Abadie, and Mrs Clerville Trosclair.
