Euel Gordon 'E.G.' Abbott, Jr., age 90 of Lithonia, died Thursday, May 30, 2019. He was born to the late Euel Abbott, Sr., and Irene Housworth Abbott in Lithonia, GA on August 29, 1928. He received his education at Lithonia High School and retired after 30 years from The Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Abbott on June 21, 1975. He was a devoted and faithful member of Smyrna Presbyterian Church and Campground. He was a loving husband, father, and papa and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rev. E.A. 'Bud' Abbott; sisters, Violet Stephenson, Margaret Merritt, Anna Hynson and Shirley Robertson. E.G. is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Jeanne; children, Kathy Abbott Dove of Lithonia, GA, Cindy (Bernard) Gallof of Acworth, GA, Darleyne Sims of Mansfield, GA, Terri (Randall) Townley of Covington, GA, Randy (Patti) Abbott of Conyers, GA; sister, Vivian 'Bib' Robertson of Lumpkin, GA; 10 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday June 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Smyrna Presbyterian Church, 2920 Hwy 212 SW, Conyers, GA 30094 with Rev Mark George officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smyrna Presbyterian Cemetery Trust Fund, Smyrna Presbyterian Church, 2920 Hwy 212 SW, Conyers, GA 30094.
