She was born November 6, 1921 in Lutts, TN, the daughter of the late Ira Martin and Roxie Melson Stricklin.
She was united in marriage to T. R. Abrams on August 28, 1938 and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1993.
Mrs Abrams, having worked at Lutts Post Office for 33 years, retired as officer in charge and postmaster replacement for the US Postal Service. She also worked at the Pinhook School Cafeteria and Abrams Grocery.
She was a member of the Lutts Methodist Church in Lutts, Tennessee.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy Abrams, wife, Rachel of Savannah, TN; grandsons, Randy Abrams, wife, Vickie of Columbia, TN, Sandy Abrams, wife, Gaye of Collierville, TN; great-grandchildren, Lauren Abrams of Nashville, TN, Lindsay Abrams of Knoxville, TN and Adam Abrams of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Matthew (Sonny) Stricklin, wife, Ethel of Iron City, TN; sisters, Ann Bonar of Collinwood, TN and Ira (Bitsy) Weatherford of Madison, AL and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Abrams was preceded in death by a great-grandson, David Lindley Abrams and sisters, Grace Horton, Waymon Morris, Linnie Pigg, Esther Stricklin and Nettie Faulkner.
Services will be Sunday, June 30, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Edward Murrey and Chad Balentine officiating. Burial will follow in the Lutts Cemetery, Lutts, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 12 pm to service time at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry B. Franks, David E. Daniel, Larry Morris, Jamie Steele, Kerry Steele and Keith Wilbanks. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Steele and Paul Abrams.
