Mrs. Audrey Abner was born July 16, 1956 in Knox County Kentucky. She passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Albert Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. Mrs. Audrey Abner was born in Knox County Kentucky to Reverend Mark Mills (formerly of Clay County and later of Knox County) and his wife, the late Mrs. Axie Mills of Knox County Kentucky.

Mrs. Audrey Abner was united in marriage in Knox County, Kentucky to Mr. Carl Wayne Abner on July 1, 1989 and to this union two daughters and one son were born.

Mrs. Audrey Abner was an employee at Aisin Automotive Casting in London, Kentucky. Previously, Miss Audrey had worked at Warner’s Factory in Barbourville, Kentucky and at the American Greeting Factory in Corbin, Kentucky. Mrs. Abner was a devoted member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. Her pastimes including cooking delicious meals for her beloved family and friends, shopping at the local Goodwill store and spending time on her front porch with her dear husband, Carl Wayne.

Left behind to mourn Miss Audrey is her loving husband of thirty years, Carl Wayne Abner of Cranes Nest, Kentucky; her two daughters: Ms. Leona Broughton of Gray, Kentucky, and Mrs. Felicia Sweatt (Tony) of Hazard Kentucky; and her son: Mr. Jerry Abner of Barbourville, Kentucky.

Mrs. Audrey Abner had three sisters and two brothers. She leaves behind Mrs. Zelma Evans (Eddie) of Columbia, Tennessee and Mrs. Annette Broughton (Randy) of Cannon, Kentucky. She was pre-deceased by Mrs. Erma Hubbs (Jake) of Rockholds, Kentucky.

The brothers Miss Audrey leaves behind to mourn her passing are Preston Mills (Peggy) of Cranes Nest, Kentucky and Zandall Mills (Jayne) of Route 229, Kentucky.

Miss Audrey was much beloved to many family members. She was known as “Nana” to Chloe and Payton. She was known as “Mamaw” to Devin, Jared, Jerica, Kathryn, Reese, Kiera, Khloe, Kirk and Kenyon. Her nieces and nephews: Brandi, Mirand, Preston Lee, Amy Jo and Dawson will miss her dearly as will her eleven grandchildren. Karen and Steven are mourning Miss Audrey and deeply grateful for the love she gave to them.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Darrell Bargo and Reverend Lonnie Collett officiating. The Abner Family will welcome friends for visitation at 6:00 PM Saturday, July 27, 2019. Family will be received at 5:00 PM Saturday. The Abner Family has asked that beloved friends and family members be pallbearers.
