Claudette "Claudie" Abbott, 77, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born on December 11, 1941 in Vicco, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clyde Stone and Virginia (White) Stone.
Claudie was the retired co-owner and operator of the old Abbott Ideal Cleaners in Scottsburg, Indiana, also a former employee of Reliance Electric in Madison, Indiana and the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charleston, Indiana. She attended the Lexington Christian Church in Lexington, Indiana and loved to read books, work in her flower gardens and enjoyed spending time with family and her grandsons.
In addition to her parents, Claudie was preceded in death by her son, James Shawn Abbott on November 9, 1994.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, John R. Abbott; two sons, John C. Abbott and Jeffrey L. Abbott both of Lexington, Indiana; two sisters, Della Jones and her husband Tom of Corydon, Indiana and Judy Lynn Allen and her husband Bobby of Shelbyville, Kentucky and four grandsons, Dakota, Collin, Michael and Jonathan Abbott and his wife Amanda.
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana with Rev. Dr. David Flucke officiating. Visitation: 4 to 8 PM on Wednesday and from 2 to 3 PM on Thursday at Collins Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lexington Cemetery.
