Booneville, KY – Martin Abner, Jr., 38, of Judd Road, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Oneida, KY, on April 2, 1969, to the late Martin and Beatrice Combs Abner. He was a former U. S. Marine and a member of the D. A. V. He enjoyed motorcycles, music and being with people. He is survived by two sisters, Mildred E. (& Ricky) Hudson of Booneville, KY and Georgia L. Abner and her fiancée, Charles "Skip" Hamilton, Jr. of Morrow, Ohio and a nephew, Colby A. Hudson of Booneville, KY; and his maternal grandfather, Robert Combs, also of Booneville. Also surviving are his seven maternal uncles, Chester and David Combs, both of Booneville, KY, Charlie Combs of Ricetown, KY, Willie Dale Combs of Maineville, OH, Oakley Combs of Hamilton, OH, Maxie Combs of Morrow, OH and Letcher Combs of South Lebanon, OH; and one maternal aunt, Georgia Moyers of Beattyville, KY; a paternal aunt, Marie (& Kezia) McGrafth of Morrow, OH; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services with military rites by the Three Forks Post # 11296 VFW was held on Saturday, May 12, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Rev. Virgil Harris and Rev. Keith Hensley officiating. Visitation on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Burial in the Esau Gabbard Cemetery, on Indian Creek in Owsley Co., with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
