Michael Dale Abbott Sr., age 63, Osgood passed away on Monday November 23, 2020 at Kings Daughter Hospital in Madison. He was born in Indianapolis on February 14, 1957 the son of the late Marion Abbott and Shirley (Taylor) McAdams.
Mike grew up in the Lawrenceburg community and was a graduate of Lawrenceburg High School Class of 1974. Upon graduating school, Mike entered the workforce at Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison Ohio. After a couple years, he began working at Stedman's Foundry in Aurora, before going to Earnhardt Foundry in Cincinnati. He retired from there in 1997 after 20 years of service.
Also, in the mid 70's he met Deborah Bryant, they were married on April 30, 1977, celebrating their 43-wedding anniversary this year. After retirement Mike received his Auctioneer License and could be found at Napoleon Auction Barn, selling various items. He enjoyed panning for gold in Brown County, searching for arrowheads, metal detecting, gardening and listening to gospel music. He did research on his family ancestors, throughout the years and loved sharing his findings with his family. Mike loved to be in touch with all that was happening ad was deemed "Facebook Sherriff" by his family. Anyone that knew Mike would tell you that his family was always his number one priority. From his wife, kids and grandkids to his many nieces, nephews and friends, he will always be remembered as the "Ironman" with a heart of gold.
He is survived by wife Deborah, sons; Phillip (Kelli) Dabbs, Craig (Loria) Dabbs, Michael Abbott Jr., and Aaron (Kayla) Abbott , daughters; Philimena Dabbs, Michelle (Eric) Berglund, Deborah (Josh) McKittrick, and Tiffany Rudolf, 18 grandkids, and 8 great grandkids, sisters Sharon and Wendy, brothers Terry and Jimmy, and also his favorite puppy "Little Bit." He was preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren Michael Dale Abbott III and Jayden Lee McKittrick, and brothers Wayne, Danny, and Billy.
Visitation will be held on Saturday November 28, 2020 from 10 am.- 12 pm. at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm. with Pastor Pete Bryk officiating, burial will be at Greendale Cemetery outside of Osgood.
