George was born on February 8, 1951 in Holman, NM.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Nestora Abeyta and brothers, William and Vicente Abeyta Jr.
George, also known as Rambo to some, retired from the New Mexico Highway Department after 23 plus years of employment. George had been retired for many years and had resided in Holman, NM, in his life-long home.
George is survived by his daughter, Tawnya Abeyta (Ramon Montes) of Las Vegas, NV, sisters, Gloria Sinsheimer, (Harry) of Albuquerque, NM, Helen Sánchez of Bosque Farms, NM, Jane Morales of Oxnard, CA and Julie Huartson of Carmel, IN, brother, Roger Abeyta of Albuquerque, NM and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at St Gertrude the Great Catholic Church, Mora, NM with the Rosary to be on Sunday, August. 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., prayed by The Legion of Mary. Mass will be on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., Celebrant, Fr. Jim Mulligan. Burial to follow at San Isidro Cemetery, Holman, NM.
