ABBOTT POWER COMPANY HEAD DIES IN CITY
Albert Edward Abbott of Mason City, president of the Abbott Light & Power company, a concern furnishing electricity and power to a number of central Illinois towns, died at St. John's hospital at 3 o'clock this morning. He was 49 years old.

Mr. Abbott's death was due to double pneumonia. Though in failing health for some time, he had been a patient at the hospital in Springfield only about ten days.

For a number of years, Mr. Abbott had been prominent in central Illinois Masonic circles. He was a member of Mohamed temple, Ancient Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Peoria; St. Aldermar's Commendery No. 43, Knight of Templar, Petersburg, Springfield consistory, Mason City lodge No. 403, A.F.&A.M., Thompson chapter, Bloomington council and various other branches of Masonry.

He also was a member of the Mason City Presbyterian church, Wilfred lodge No. 213, Knights of Pythias, and Mason City lodge No. 337, I.O.O.F.

Mr. Abbott, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Abbott, was born near Mason City on March 30, 1872, and had always lived in that vicinity.

On September 9, 1896, he married Miss Etta Mehan, who with a son, Ira R., survive. Others survivors are the aged father residing at Mason City; a broterh, Ira R., of Petersburg, an official of the Abbot company; and a sister, Mrs. Alice M. McCarthy, wife of Dr. McCarthy, superintendent of the Quincy district of the Methodist Episcopal church.

Another brother, R.H. Abbott, who died about a year and a half ago, served on Adjutant General Frank S. Dickson's staff during the recent war.

The remains were taken overland to the family residence.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church in Mason City.

Interment was made in Mason City cemetery.
