Waynesville, Ronald Grady Kilby, age 79, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at his residence.

A native of Rabun, Georgia, he was the son of the late Caney Jackson and Beulah Mae Frady Kilby. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie Kilby, who passed away in 1997; five brothers, Levosher, Delo, James, Jackson, and Ray Kilby; and two sisters, Zoie and Rosetta Kilby.

Ronnie retired from Dayco in 1997 as a Banberry Operator after 31 ½ years of service. A dedicated Christian, his hobby and passion in life was helping others. Whether it was small-engine repair or mowing a lawn, Ronnie was a servant for the Lord. He had a deep love for grouse and pheasant hunting and enjoyed trekking through Fines Creek's fields for the best game. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and he was even blessed to hold his first great-grandchild, Laken Wood, last week. Ronnie will be deeply missed but his legacy of serving others will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Wood, and her husband, Reverend Samuel Wood, of Monroe, North Carolina; his son, Scott Kilby, and his wife, Pam, of Clyde; and his sister, Zanie Mae Kilby Cook of Candler; three grandchildren, Phillip Wood (Amanda), Andrew Wood (Hannah) and Hunter Kilby (Arrah); and one great-grandchild, Laken Wood.

A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, with Reverend Samuel Wood and Reverend Jeff Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
