Lois Ann Abbott Null, 76 years of age of Oakwood, VA, entered into Heaven's Gates Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Clinch Valley Medical Center. Born July 6, 1946, in Oakwood, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ceba Chapman Abbott and Marie Madeline Minton Abbott.

Lois was a former employee of Buchanan County Public Schools, working at Garden High School for fourteen years. Lois loved to travel with her cousins, Jan and Judy. She and her sister, Janie, were founding members of the Garden Green Dragon Museum, a portion of which is currently on display at the Appalachian School of Pharmacy.

Lois attended New Life Fellowship Church and was a dedicated Christian for forty-six years. Prior to attending New Fellowship Church, Lois attended Rowe Pentecostal Church and Oakwood Full Gospel Church, where she was active in the youth ministries and directed church dramas for many years. With Martha Boyd, Lois co-founded The Gift of Love Foundation, where they provided Christmas dinners and the ministry of God's love to the needy for several years at Garden High School. Through The Gift of Love Foundation, thousands of people were blessed with food, clothing, bibles, and spiritual uplifting. She was a talented decorator, especially during the holidays, and along with her community volunteers, she would give out fruit baskets to widows, shut-ins, and nursing homes.

She was a soul winner, prayer warrior, evangelist, and spiritual counselor who dedicated her life to helping others. Loving wife, mother, and friend to many, Lois entered into Heaven praying in the spirit with her loving family by her side.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janie Elizabeth Hale.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-four years, Roger Lee Null of Oakwood, VA; daughter Melessa Lee Null of Oakwood, VA; brother Richard (Cathy) Abbott of Clinton, TN; extended family includes: Lucas Shortridge and his daughter Ava Marie of Grundy, VA; special cousins who were like her sisters, Jan Ruth (Junior) Nichols of Bristol, VA, and Judy Carol Minton of Bristol, TN; Rayburn (Frannie) Minton of Oakwood, VA, Pete (Debbie) Minton of Christiansburg, VA; niece Rhoda (Michael) Dotson of Grundy, VA.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Teresa Lester and Nancy Null both of Lebanon, VA, several nieces and nephews, and, especially, her many Gift of Love volunteers that she was able to work with through the years.

Funeral service for Lois Ann Null will be held at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Wilson and Pete Minton officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon and Brock Nichols, Rusty Johnson, Lucas Shortridge, Rayburn Minton, and Clyde Stacy.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Gift of Love Volunteers.

The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Monday, November 22, 2021, after 6:00 p.m., with evening service to be held at 7:00 p.m.
