John Aardema, 85, Leavenworth, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on January 22, 1936 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Nonie and Grace (Groen) Aardema. He was a member of the Local #2 Sheet Metal Workers for over 50 years and the First United Methodist Church. He met Wilvina Ver Mulm and on August 22, 1957 they were married. He joined the US Army on October 2, 1958 and was honorably discharged on September 30, 1964. John enjoyed hunting and especially fishing and of course spending time with his family and his granddaughter. He was a member of the Local #2 union and the American Legion Post 199. He is survived by his wife Wilvina of the home and daughter, Pamela Trapp and one granddaughter, Nicole Trapp.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the funeral home at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm with the funeral service following at 12:00 pm with Chaplain B. J. Ha, officiating. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery with US Army military honors at 1:30 pm.
