Infant Baby may be buried with mother, or in next grave, as there is a stone with the saying of "Unknown Grave". There are actually two markers with this saying, next to the mother, and one is likely for the Baby, and both markers have no dates. There is writing on the Mother's marker at the bottom, which may be for Baby. One other child died young, which may be for one of the markers.

Infant Baby is the child of Jessie B. Adams and Nottie Samanatha (Benson) Adams. Mother Nottie Samantha died from childbirth complications as listed on her death certificate #23680 from Campbell County, Virginia.

Baby Adams was born in 1922 and possibly stillborn, or premature birth, or neonatal birth. Since mother Nottie died on 25 November, I have listed Baby Adams death date as the same. Calling cemetery for clarification on the burials in the Adams family plot to see when Baby Adams was buried. Another family has listed the baby died in 1923, so wonder if baby lived for a few days.

Work is being done to determine what the exact cause of death was for mother and baby. Baby was buried with mother, it is believed. Death record lists cause of death of mother as Anta Partum Hemorrhage, no medical treatment, Placenta Previa. Unsure yet if baby was stillborn, or early neonatal (between age 0 - 7 days) and sounds like she was being prepared for labor. The greatest risk of placenta previa is bleeding (or hemorrhage). Bleeding often occurs as the lower part of the uterus thins during the third trimester of pregnancy in preparation for labor. This causes the area of the placenta over the cervix to bleed. Placental perfusion insufficiency (APP) is frequently accompanied by impaired placental function and is associated with known risk factors.
