Leroy was a very genuine, humble and kind man with a great ear for listening and was always full of advice. He never sugar coated anything and always gave his honest opinion. He will always be known for his sense of humor and his many Dichos.
At a very young age, Leroy left his home in Ledoux, NM to become a sheep herder in Wyoming and fondly talked about living in a wagon in the middle of nowhere. He worked various jobs along the way and lived in Los Angeles, CA long enough to become vested in the Railroad. After many years, Leroy moved his family back to his home state of NM and 25 years later, retired from Luna Vocational technical Institute. Leroy was proud to say he was a Farmer and even a cowboy. He never lost sight of his direction whether he was in the mountain or in the City. He remained sharp as a tack until the very end.
Always a very hard worker from the beginning to the end, he never lacked words and while not a man to express his emotion, one always new how special and how loved you were. The world is definitely short one of the few Real men in this world who will never be forgotten and will forever be loved. Rest in Peace Daddy, Leroy, Mr. Leroy, Mr. Abeyta. There will never be enough words to say goodbye.
