TWO U.OF N. MEN KILLED IN COAST AUTO SMASH-UP

William Herbert and Clayton Byer Victims

On their way to the homecoming celebration at the University of Nevada, Clayton Crittenden Byer and William Herbert, graduates with the class of 1931, were killed in an automobile accident near Hayward, Cal., yesterday, and Andrew Kincaid, also a graduate of the unversity, was seriously injured.

Dies Instantly

Byer was killed at once when the machine collided with a car driven by H.C. Lovell, Berkeley, Cal., insurance agent, who was seriously injured. Herbert died at three o'clock yesterday afternoon from the injuries.

Byer was a native of Austin, Nev., and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Byer of that town. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two half-sisters, Mrs. Bert Acree of Austin, and Mrs. Joseph Russell of Ely, and a half-brother, George Bonner. He was taking a post-graduate course in law at Stanford University.
