Joe retired from Hillerich and Bradsby after 41 years of service. He served our country in the United States Army and was an avid UK fan. Joe was a loving husband, an amazing dad, and "the best" grandpa!
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Catherine Abell; brother, Thomas Abell; and sister, Mary Miles.
Left to cherish his memory is his dedicated wife of 61 years, Barbara; children, Carla Carrico (George), Joe Abell (Deanna); grandchildren, Austin Cox, Megan Cox, Dawson Abell, Owen Abell; siblings, Ann Roby, John Abell, Linda Crow, Alli Abell Bowen; and several loving extended family, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 2pm.. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 12pm at St. Rose Priory Catholic Church, 868 Loretto Rd, Springfield KY 40069, with burial immediately following Mass in St Rose Cemetery.
