I found a record that Joseph had once married Elizabeth E Stovall, an older sister of Amanda Stovall on 23 Dec 1866. Then I find the marriage for Joseph to Amanda Cordelia Stovall in 1869. In the 1880 Census, I find Joseph and Amanda married with a child, ELizabeth E who was born in abt 1868. This is probably Joseph's first wife's child since Joseph hadn't married Amanda until 1869. I believe something must have happened to Elizabeth, probably death from child birth as I have never found her again. I haven't found a grave for her yet. Maybe some day.
