Elisabeth married Jacob Aab prior to them emigrating to the US from their home in Russia. Jacob arrived in New York from Liverpool on the Caronia on July 28, 1912, with Elisabeth arriving in New York from Bremen on the Breslau on July 20, 1913 at the age of 21. Elisabeth became sick with a "lung problem" while in New Jersey and doctors suggested that she be taken out West for her health. Arriving in Rocky Ford, Colorado in early April of 1915, Elisabeth died just three weeks later, at the age of 23, due to chronic [endocarditis?] (hard to read the second word on the death certificate), with rheumatism being a contributory factor.
Jacob buried his wife in Rocky Ford and eventually moved to Flint Michigan, where he opened a grocery store, married Anna Spindler Weitz, and had a son named Albert Jacob Aab, followed eventually by two grandchildren.
April 30, 1915 - Elisabeth Aab's obituary in the Rocky Ford Enterprise newspaper:
"At her home on North Third street on Saturday last Mrs. Elizabeth Aab passed away at the age of twenty three years. The young husband had brought his sick wife from Newark, N.J. in search of health just three weeks ago. The funeral was held from the German Congregational church on Monday afternoon, Rev. Zlidat pastor of the church, conducting the services. Interment was in Valley View Cemetery."
