Bertha Adams Bennett, age 94 of Hurt, died Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at her residence.
Born April 11, 1928, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry Adams and Elizabeth Rose Worley Adams.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ray Anderson Bennett; one son, Billy Bennett; one grandson, Tony Bennett; two sisters, Martha Hammock, and Drusey Myers; and nine brothers, Bernard Adams, Willard Adams, Burkley Adams, James Adams, Oscar Adams, Curtis Adams, Paul Adams, Harold Adams, and Clayton Adams.
Left to cherish her memories are her one son, Bobby Bennett of Hurt; two daughters, Debora Arthur and husband, Barry of Hurt, and Elaine Dalton and husband, Jeff of Hurt; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Pastor Matthew Speck. Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence. Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, Gretna is assisting the family.
