Fordie S. Abbot, 70, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital after an extended illness. He married Clara Elizabeth Jones in, 1933, at Somerset, Kentucky.

He was employed by Benton County Highway Department and retired in 1976.

He was a member of Fowler Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, four sons, four daughters, two brothers, one sister, and 14 grandchildren.

Seven sisters preceded him in death.
