Maggie Dezzie Richey, 93, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, in Yukon.
She was born Feb. 20, 1913, in Willow Grove, Tenn., to Ella Edens Abston and Tommy F. Abston. She was raised in Willow Grove and moved to Kiowa County in 1929. She married Clinton Richey in Lone Wolf on Feb. 20, 1932.
She was a homemaker for her family and helped her husband farm north of Lone Wolf. She moved to Mustang in 1984 and enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, cooking and being with family and friends, especially being with a special friend, Robbie Lou Campbell. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Rice and husband Jerry of Mustang and Linda Cornwell, also of Mustang; one brother, Delton "Buck" Abston of Sentinel; three sisters, Robbie Stowe of Statesville, N.C., Bea Jones of Roseburg, Ore., and Gladys King of Irving, Texas; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. today at the Lone Wolf Church of Christ, officiated by Grady King. Burial was to follow at Lone Wolf Cemetery under the direction of People's Cooperative Funeral Home.
