Abran was born on November 1, 1943, in Veguita, NM, to Marcel O. and María Amparo Rubio Abeyta.
Abran is preceded in death by his brothers, Norberto, Eusebio, Vences, Victoriano and Marcel and sister, Josefa.
Abran is survived by his wife, Sally, children, Ruben (Cathy), Daniel (Carolyn), Katherine Thompson (Jerry) and Caroline Castillo (Dimas), step-son, James Trujillo (Julia), several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and brothers, Ines, Miguel (Ollie), Refugio (Cathy) and Beltran (Adela).
As valued member of the community Abran left an accomplished legacy that will live on for residents for years to come. His accomplishments included the establishment of the Veguita Fire Department, laid the groundwork for local law enforcement and restored the San Juan Catholic Church to its original glory in 1976. Abran was a contractor and was involved in the construction of bridges and infrastructure along the I-25 corridor.
Abran Abeyta will be dearly missed by his family and friends and will live on through his many accomplishments.
A viewing will be held at San Juan Catholic Church in Veguita, NM on November 10, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Veguita Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Castillo, Gabriel Abeyta, Andrew Abeyta, Michael Abeyta, David Abeyta and Tom Abeyta.
