Emery V. Large
Emery Vernice LARGE, 75, life-long resident of the Leiters Ford community, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Rochester Nursing Home where he had been a patient for a day. He had been critically ill since last Friday.
He was born Dec. 27, 1880, in Delong to John and Mary Jane LARGE. His wife, the former Clovie STAYTON, died in 1950. Mr. Large was a member of the Leiters Ford Methodist Church, the I.O.O.F. Lodge there, and the Masonic Lodge of Rochester.
Surviving are eight children: Juanita [LARGE], Fort Wayne; Chester [LARGE], San Antonio, Texas; Alfred [LARGE], Culver; Orville [LARGE], Monterey; Delbert [LARGE], Leiters Ford; Helen Jane [LARGE],Argos; Susan [LARGE] of Pennsylvania, and Lester [LARGE], LaPorte. Also surviving are five sisters and a brother: Mrs. Vada SMITH, Argos; Mrs. Nellie ADAIR (s/b ABAIR), Argos; Mrs. Ludie REESE (s/b Lutie REES) and Miss Ruth LARGE, both of South Bend; Mrs. Eva STAYTON, and Ralph LARGE, both of Culver.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Leiters Ford Methodist Church with the Rev. Lewis HASKELL officiating. Burial will be in the Leiters Ford Cemetery. The Rochester Masons will conduct rites at the graveside.
Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home after noon Friday until 3 p.m. Saturday when the body will be taken to the residence at Leiters Ford.
