Arthur W. Aaronson, 77, Rock Island, formerly of Aledo, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, at Oak Glen Home, Rural Township.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Hodgson Funeral Home Ltd., Rock Island, Rev. Ron Pettigrew officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military rites conducted by Milan Legion/VFW. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today.

Mr. Aaronson was born March 7, 1921, in Aledo, the son of Charles Aaronson and Maude Chapman Aaronson. He married Cleo Benson. He later married Robin Johnson.

He was a self-employed painter. He enjoyed woodworking.

He was a WW II Army veteran.

Survivors include daughters, Teresa Jordan, Milan, Candy Garcia, Rock Island, Missy Brady, Bluford, Ill.; sons, Bill Aaronson, Rock Island, Arthur Jr., Davenport; stepdaughter, Melody Youssi, Mendota, Ill.; a stepson, Michael Benson, Milan; 10 grandchildren; and sisters, Helen Sterling, Topeka, Kan., Ethel Ludwick, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Victor and Raymond Aaronson.
