Bernetta M. Watson Abbott, 81 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, May 12th, 2023 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Bernetta was born in Bethelridge, Kentucky on February 2nd, 1942, daughter of the late William Arthur Watson and Luella Wesley Watson. She was a homemaker and a member of the Northside Baptist Church. Bernetta enjoyed quilting, bird watching, puzzles, and word searches. She was the greatest mother her children could ever ask for and loved spending time with her family.
Bernetta was survived by two sons, Thomas (and Melissa) Abbott and Bobby Joe (and Misty) Abbott; two daughters, Patricia (and Tim) Walden and Rosemary (and Tank) Haste; three siblings, Everette (and Lib) Watson, Jim (and Pat) Watson, and Joyce Wesley; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several neices & nephews; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Arthur Watson, who departed this life on February 14th, 1983 and Luella Watson, who departed this life on February 17th, 1995; her husband, Tim C. Abbott, who departed this life on January 2nd, 2020; two brothers, Benny Watson, who departed this life on February 4th, 1986 and Delbert Cortez Watson, who died in infancy on August 22nd, 1925; and three sisters, Delliah Louallen, Deva Wilson, and Mary Barthela Francis, who departed this life on December 17th, 2008.
Visitations were held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 in the Chapel of the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Muse and Bro. Scotty Nix officiating.
Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery.
