Jetta Hines Abbott, 66, Topeka, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Her loving family surrounded her at the time of her death.

She is survived by a son, Anthony A. Abbott, Topeka; beloved grandson, Zachary Abbott, and his mother, Deena Abbott, Topeka; two brothers, Bob Hines and his wife, Gloria, Topeka, Jerry Hines and his wife, Wanda, Venice FL; two sisters, Jan Hutt, Topeka, Phyllis Livingston and her husband, Bill, Topeka; six nieces and four nephews who were an important part of her life; and her precious dog, Maxie, also survive her.

Jetta was born in Meriden March 13, 1939. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Maxine Hines. She was raised in Meriden and spent most of her adult life in Topeka. She retired from the Topeka Social Security Office in 1998. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed travel. She attended Topeka Bible Church.

Services at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, Burial will follow in Meriden Cemetery.
