Francis Abell came with his father George Abell from
Maryland to Kentucky about 1792 and were among the early
settlers of Nelson County. He married Hannah Houston in
1801 and they had 15 children in all, of whom about half of
that number were born in Nelson County.
They moved from Kentucky about 1814- 1816 to Indiana
8and were among the first settlers in Crawford County.
Francis and family were neighbors to the family of Abraham
Wiseman while in Kentucky.
As has been stated in Part One of this book, Abraham
Wiseman and family had migrated from Kentucky to Indiana
and settled in Crawford County. Abraham offered Francis a
gift of 40 acres of land if he would join him in Crawford
County. Francis accepted this gift and bought additional land
adjoining the land of Abraham.
Thus the two families were neighbors again and their
children grew up together, intermarried and were like one
large famlly. When we first conceived the idea of writing a
history of the Abraham Wiseman family, the subject was
discussed among the relatives, and members of the Abell
family suggested that since the two families were so much
related it seemed a good idea if we would include in the book
a chapter on the Francis Abell family.

Taken from Our Ancestors by Henry Newton Wiseman and Sallie Wiseman Goldman.
Since Francis Abell was living so near the Wiseman place it seems he would be buried near his home.
