Actor. He is perhaps most recognized for his role as Vice President-elect Aaron Shore in 'Designated Survivor,' alongside Kiefer Sutherland. Originally from Mexico, Canto grew up in Texas until the age of 16. Following his departure from Texas, he relocated to Mexico City with the hope of launching his music career as a guitarist and singer. Although he had some small roles in local commercials and TV shows, his acting career took off in 2013. His career took off in Hollywood when he was cast in the Fox drama series 'The Following.' In 'Narcos,' he played the role of real-life politician Rodrigo Lara Bonilla and had an arc on 'Second Chance.' He recently portrayed Arman Morales, a gang member, in 'The Cleaning Lady' as one of its leads, alongside Elodie Yung. Those who love comic books will also remember Canto as the mutant Sunspot in 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.' In his films and television appearances, he has also worked on '2 Hearts,' 'Bruised,' 'Agent Game,' 'The Devil Below,' 'Mixology,' 'Blood & Oil,' and 'The Catch.'
