Dead of Bright's Disease
Charles Abbott, colored, died Monday about seven o'clock pm, of Brights disease. The deceased came to Stevens County last year from Ohio, in search of health and for a time was benefited but the disease already had him listed and owing to his extreme old age and physical condition. His relief here was only temporary.
He was buried Tuesday in the Hugoton cemetery.
He leaves a wife and several children in Ohio, none of whom reached here in time for the burial and one son who has been with the old man ever since he came here. Mr. Abbott was an old soldier and for a colored man of the old school was exceptionally intelligent.
