ANACONDA, March 10 - Floyd E. Ackerman, 42, local barber and a veteran of World War II, died suddenly Friday afternoon while visiting in the home of a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Terry "Conklin of 307 Victory homes. A resident of Anaconda several years, his home was at 606 Cedar.
Coroner Leo Scalise attributed death to a heart condition. No inquest will be held. He and Mrs. Ackerman had just returned to Anaconda from Butte when he was stricken.
Mr. Ackerman was born in North Dakota, Jan. 23, 1908. He served in the Army from May 4, 1942 to Dec. 4, 1945. He enlisted in San Francisco. Mr. Ackerman was a member of the Anaconda Barbers union and the Baptist church.
Surviving relatives besides his wife and Mr. and Mrs. Conklin include a daughter, Deloise, Spokane; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Ackerman of Granger, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ackerman of Boston; two brothers-in-laws and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Clem People of St. Paul and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Severson of Verona, ND.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Stevens, Columbia Falls; four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. George Gulick, Mr. and Mrs. Alvie Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Stevens and Melvin Stevens all of Columbia Falls and several nephews and nieces.
The body is in the Finnegan company chapel.
