Musician. He was a founding member of the 1960s vocal group The Happenings. Formed by a group of high school friends, they were initially called The Four Graduates prior to changing their name to The Happenings. After securing a contract with the B.T. Puppy record label, they scored a Top 10 hit with "See You In September," which reached number 3 on the American Pop Charts during the summer of 1966. This was followed by the top 20 single "Go Away Little Girl" (achieving a number 12 placing in October 1966) and their cover of George & Ira Gershwin's "I've Got Rhythm," which earned a number 3 placing in 1967. During the height of their popularity, they performed on the TV programs "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour," "The Clay Cole Show, "The Mike Douglas Show," and "The Merv Griffin Show." After his departure, he began an association with singer Alice Cooper as his road manager. Libert later established his own agency and represented George Clinton and The Runaways. He penned the 2022 book "Rock & Roll Warrior," which recounted his experiences with George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic.
