Professional Baseball Player and Coach. During his time in Major League Baseball, he played for two teams, the Kansas City Royals (1998, 2000–2001) and the Texas Rangers (2002). As a coach, he was with the Texas Rangers for six years (2015–2020). After completing his college education, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 35th round of the 1988 MLB Draft. Like any other player, he spent some time in the minor league before being called up to the majors in 1998 and made his debut on September 14, 1998, for the Kansas City Royals. After being traded to the Rangers, he played only one season for them, making his final appearance on May 15, 2002. Retiring after the 2005 season, he rejoined the Rangers as a minor league coach in 2006. During the off-season, he also managed in the Puerto Rican Winter League. Although he was let go from the major league staff following the 2020 season, he returned to minor league coaching as a member of the team's player development staff until his death from pancreatic cancer.
