Musician. A drummer, he will be remembered for his work as a member of the 1970s disco ensemble Heatwave. After signing with the Epic record label, the group enjoyed immense success with the singles "Boogie Nights" (1977, reaching number 2 on the American Pop Charts), "Always and Forever" (1978, earning a top 20 placing), and "The Groove Live" (1978, which charted at number 7). All three songs achieved platinum record status. Berger remained with the band for five studio album recordings.
