A native of Chatham County, she was the daughter of the late Eulas Johnson and the late Lillie Elmore Johnson and was married to the late Wade Allen Gaines. She was employed with Acme McCrary in Siler City and was a member of Siler City Pentecostal Holiness Church and also attended Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mrs. Gaines is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Gaines and Mary Catherine Gaines, both of Goldston; a son, Darrell Gaines and his wife, Lorie, of Elon; two grandchildren, Jordan and Alexandria Gaines; four sisters, Ruby Abee, Margaret Hough, Doris Tallent and June Easter; and three brothers, Rexford Johnson, Rowland Johnson and Paul Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, Herman Johnson and Herbert Johnson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church by Rev. Delmar Scotton and Rev. Mike Johnson. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Siler City at 1:00 PM Wednesday.
