William was reared on a farm, and received a rudimentary education in a district school. In January, 1844, he married Thurza Pindell, by whom he had nine children, eight of whom are still living - Carey W., Rachel A., Michael, Ethan, Melinda, Nancy, Mary and Chil_on. In 1844, he moved to the southern portion of the township, where he still resides. Mr. Rhoten has been successful in business during life. Is a member of the Christian Union Church. Is the owner of 405 acres of land in a high degree cultivation.
