George Abbott Died Last Night in Hospital at Rawlins

George Abbott, the last 25 years or more, a resident of this section of the Platte Valley, died last evening at 11 o'clock at the Memorial Hospital in Rawlins. He had been in ill health for several months and the last week and a half had been receiving treatment at the hospital.

Abbott about 86 years of age, came to this section from Denver, some 25 years ago to take employment as a herder on the Freeland Cattle Co. Ranch on Pass Creek. He spent seven or eight years there employed by A. B. Walker, and then for a short time was employed at other ranches in the Saratoga area. He retired about 15 years ago, and had since that time, made his home more or less permanently in Saratoga.

Very little is known at this time regarding his early life, but it is said that his life as a boy was spent in Orrick MO, and that he still has a sister and possibly other relatives living there.

Funeral services will be held this Sunday afternoon, at two o'clock, at the Saratoga Nazarene Church. Reverend Christie Sites will be in charge of the services. The Rasmusson Shriner mortuary of Rawlins is in charge of the arrangements, and burial will be in the Saratoga Cemetery.
