Mrs. Nellie May Sears, 83, mother of Orisa Abbott, and Ada Pauls, died Oct. 9, 1959 in Redmond. She had made her home there the past three years with her daughter, Orisa at 911 W Fir St.
Funeral services held at the Westminister Presbyterian Church, Bend of which she was a member. She was born Feb. 6, 1876, the daughter of Foster and Sarah Wilcox in Marshall, Mich. She married Guy Sears Sept. 25, 1895, and went to Arizona as a bride. They moved to Puyallup, Wash. a few years then took a homestead in Central Oregon in 1904. They sold the homestead in 1909 and moved to Portland, Hood River, The Dalles, and back to Bend. Her husband died in 1942 and she stayed in Bend till moving in with her daughter. She leaves behind besides her two daughters, 4 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a sister, Nora Williams. She was buried in the Redmond Cemetery.
