DEATH TAKES MRS. SOPHIA GAMMON
Mrs.. Sophia Gammon, 73,of Rural Route 1, Shoals died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, December 17,1972,at the home of her daughter, Mrs Mildred Quinn, in Indianapolis. She had been seriously ill for the past two months.
She was born in Martin County on September 29, 1899, the daughter of Hiram and Ellen (Blagrave)Abel. On Oct 29,1921, she married Clay Gammon and he survives.
She was a member of the Fairview Church and the American Legion Auxilliary.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter,Mrs. Mildred Quinn, of Indianapolis, and a son, Elmer Gammon of Ft Wayne, a sister, Mrs. Clara Hayes, of Muncie, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Queen Funeral Home after 3p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the funeral home, with Rev. Robert Hawkins conducting the rites. Burial will be made in Spring Hill Cemetery
