MRS. ROSINA ABBYMrs. Rosina Abby, the aged mother of Mrs. Chris Wenger, died at the home of her daughter at 3 o'clock on April 8th, 1917, after an illness of many months. Funeral services were held at the Wenger home in Prairie township, Tuesday forenoon, and interment was made in the Pleasant Hill cemetery. Rev. W. J. Suckow pastor of the Congregational church of Manchester, conducted the services.Mrs. Abby was born in Canton Bern, Switzerland Aug. 20, 1843 and came to America with her parents in 1850, and settled with them on a farm near Manchester. She was united in marriage in 1863 with Jacob Abby, who preceded her in death fifteen years ago. The deceased is survived by two daughters -- Mrs. Chris Wenger, of Prairie township, and Mrs. Karl Zumbach of Ryan, and five grand children and one great grand child. Two brothers -- Jacob and Benedict Mosching of Exira, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Gus. Volle, of Nebraska, also survive. Mrs. Abby had been in failing health for a long time, and was an invalid during the greater part of the past year. During the long illness she was tenderly cared for by the daughters, and during it all she bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude. To her death was a welcome messenger, and she was prepared for the change. Sincere sympathy is extended to bereaved relatives.Manchester Democrat -- Manchester, Iowa - April 11, 1917
