CROPSEY -- Elizabeth Abbey, 80, of Shamel Manor Nursing Home, Bloomington, formerly of Cropsey, died at 2:44 p.m. yesterday at Brokaw Hospital, Normal.
She was taken to Duff-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.

CROPSEY -- The funeral of Elizabeth Abbey, 80, a former Cropsey-area teacher who died Monday, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Duffy-Pils Funeral Home, Fairbury, the Rev. Wesley Osborn officiating. Burial will be in Cropsey Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home. She was born Aug. 17, 1902 at Louisville, a daughter of Rice and Edna Barbee Boyles. She married Lyle E. Abbey July 18, 1945 at Paxton. He died March 17, 1975.
Surviving is a sister, Carol Roberts, Three Lakes, Wis.
Mrs. Abbey had retired after 40 years as a teacher in the Cropsey area. She was a member of Cropsey United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
