Maxine Ainsworth, 89, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses.

She was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Hooker, Okla., to J. Clure and Lois Vincent.

A farm wife and homemaker, Mrs. Ainsworth had been a resident of Grant and Stanton counties. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ulysses.

On June 16, 1937, she married Max B. Ainsworth in Garden City. He died May 5, 1987. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Kenneth Vincent.

Survivors include a son, Kent Ainsworth of Johnson City; and three grandchildren.

Graveside service was at Ulysses Cemetery.
