Art Abelein

Sidney- Art Abelein, 78, former Sidney resident, died Friday in a hospital at Hamilton.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fulkerson Memorial Chapel, Sidney. Burial will be at Richland Memorial Park.

Mr. Abelein was born Jan. 5, 1893, at Detroit Lakes, Minn., and came to Sidney with his family in 1908. He married Bessie McBride at Sidney, Feb. 23, 1921. They farmed six miles west of Sidney until 1952 when they moved into Sidney and he owned and operated the A and B Trailer Court. He was a deputy tax assessor for Richland County for 18 years and was employed seasonally at the Holly Sugar Corp. plant. In October 1968 they retired and moved to Hamilton.

Survivors include the widow, of Hamilton; a son, Clyde E. Abelein, Bremerton, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Schilling, Anamoose, N.D., Mrs. Villa Schoessler, Park Rapids, Minn., And Mrs. Myrtle McCullough, Sidney; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
