He was born in Pulaski County, Kentucky on February 25th, 1942, son of the late Arthur Sears and Stella Rose Sears.
He was an employee of Eagle Hardwood of Somerset for nine years. He was a faithful and active member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church No#2. He was a loving husband, father and Papaw, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was survived by his wife of 43 and a half years, Vanna Jean Ridner Sears; five sons, Rick (and his wife, Sheri) Sears, Bro. Ron (and his wife, Norma) Sears, Tim Sears, and Jim (and his wife, Stefanie) Sears, all of Somerset, Kentucky, and David (and his wife, Erika) Sears of Nancy, Kentucky; one daughter, Darlene Sears Massengill of Somerset, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren, Staci and Brian Hutchins, Marina Sears, Brandon Massengill, Vickie and Rachel Sears, Dillon, Heather and Venalea Sears, Megan, Sarah and Emily Sears, all of Somerset, Kentucky, and Amber and Autumn Sears, both of Nancy, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Jarod and Makenzie Hutchins of Somerset, Kentucky; one brother, Hobert Sears of Somerset, Kentucky; four sisters, Martha Ridner and Anna Abbott of Somerset, Kentucky, Ruby Chumley of Adair County, Kentucky and Betty Cartwright of Dayton, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and co-workers from Eagle Hardwood.
Visitations were held on Thursday, July 19th, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at the Somerset Undertaking Company in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 20th, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company with Bro. Steve Sutton, Charles Bullock and Edward Bray officiating.
Burial followed in the White Lily Cemetery.
