DEATH CLAIMS MRS. ABBOTT
Heart Attack Fatal To Local Lady, Injured On November 24
Mrs. Lucy Bright Abbott, 69, of this city, died late monday afternoon at the Adams county memorial hospital, where she was taken November 24, following a fall from an auto.
Death was attributed to an acute heart attack. She had suffered a fractured and dislocated right should on November 24 when she fell from the moving auto operated by her husband, Nelson W. Abbott.
She had been confined in the hospital since that date and her condition became worse Monday morning.
The deceased was born in Allen county, Ohio on June 17, 1872, the daughter of Joshua and Nancy Mowery-Bright. She was married on November 4, 1893. She had resided in Decatur for the past three years, having spent most of her life in Wells county. She was a member of the First U. B. church.
Surviving, besides the husband, are four children: Clarence of Convoy, Ohio; Melbin of Scott, Ohio; Clark of Decatur and Francis at home; four brothers, Thomas Bright of Dayton, Ohio; Rev. Floyd Bright of Winona Lake, George Bright of Peterson and John of Decatur; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Sautbine of Wisconsin; Mrs. Mary (sic) Johnson of Ashley, Mrs. John Parrish of Monroe and Mrs. Willis Landis of Dayton. Three children died in infancy. Two sisters are also deceased. Eleven grandchildren survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the home, 333 No. Tenth street and 10 o'clock at the church with the Rev. G. T. Rosselot officiating. Burial will be made in the Oakland cemetery at Craigville.
The body will be returned to the home from the Zwick funeral home this afternoon and may be viewed there after 7 p.m. until time for the services.
