Carolyn A. Harney Abner, 63, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at her home. She was born July 28, 1945 in Paris, KY to Robert And Catherine Harney. She attended Paris High School and retired from Dosher Memorial Hospital in South Port, NC. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James A. Abner and her four sons, Jeffery and Cheryl Abner of Holden Beach, NC, James D. and Tessie Abner of Mt. Olivet, KY, Kenneth and Margaret Abner of Supply, NC, and Mike and Tammy Abner of Winnbow, NC. Carolyn is also survived by nine grandchildren, James Allen Abner, Stephanie Rudofsky, Tabitha Abner, David Abner, Kenneth Abner, Stacy McAllister, Steven Abner, Kelsey Kenny, Katie Tomlin, six great grandchildren, Leighhann Rudofsky, Katie Abner, Kristen Abner, Hailey Abner, Logan Bailey and Adrian McAllister, three step grandchildren, Nicole Frank, Taylor Frank, and Paul Curtis, three step great grandchildren, William Frank, Jessica Frank, and Trenton Frank, and lots of nieces and nephews. She is survived by her father Robert Harney of Nicholas County, KY, two sisters, Glenda Buckler of Nicholas County, KY and Sally English of Harrison County, KY, two brothers, Frank Harney of Lexington, KY and Charles Harney of Mocksville, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Buckler Harney, two brothers, Kenneth and Bobby Harney and a sister, Kay Harney. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Paris, KY, by the Rev. Timothy Pierce. Interment will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 am Monday.
