Ida Mae O’Quinn, known to her loving family and faithful friends as “Mae,” passed suddenly from this life into heaven on Saturday, July 13, 2019. Born September 21, 1939, she finally passed into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, at the age of 79. Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O’Quinn, her parents, James H. Newcomb and Lucille Gladys Newcomb, numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Mae is survived by her beloved son Kenny Ray O’Quinn, and two grandsons, Noah and Wyatt. Mae is also survived by three sisters, Julia Duffey, Janie Morris, Hazel Baldwin, and one brother, Paul Newcomb and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mae loved God, and faithfully attended and supported Liberty Christian Church, in Green Bay, VA. Mae also loved her country and our veterans. She was a faithful contributor to the Wounded Warrior Project, the DAV, the VFW, and the USMC’s “Toys for Tots” annual drive. Mae also loved her dog, a beagle which she rescued years ago, named “Lady.”
Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, Keysville, VA, will be serving the family. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, 2019, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A celebration of her life of Christian faith will be held Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Browning-Duffer Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Shifflett will preside, with internment at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Fort Mitchell, VA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Liberty Christian Church, Green Bay, VA or the Wounded Warrior Project.
