MASON - Elizabeth Mary Mason, daughter of Joseph Cyrus and Mary Elizabeth Miller, was born in Lucas county, Nov. 23, 1877 and passed away Feb. 25, 1966 at the Lucas County hospital at the age of 88 years, three months and two days.
She was born, raised and educated in Lucas county and taught school for several years.
She was married to Albert Ray Mason on September 4, 1901. To this union five children were born: Hubert Ustel and Ray Elijah of Russell, Erma Marie Johnson of Chariton, Eleanor Pearl Baggard of Phoenix, Ariz., and Ariel Ruth Anderson, who is deceased.
She had three brothers: William Miller, James Clair Miller and Jeremiah Miller, four sisters: Emma Taylor, Adda Dachenbach, Cyntha Abrahamson and Easter Brenaman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Mason and one daughter, Ariel Ruth Anderson. Also two sisters, Emma Taylor and Adda Dachenbach and one brother, James Clair Miller and a brother who died in infancy. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She leaves to mourn, besides her children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by a host of other relatives and friends who knew and loved her.
She was a member of the Christian church, joining at an early age, and transferring her membership to Russell. She was cared for in Ray Mason's home for five years, then living with her sister, Cyntha Abrahamson in Chariton, for the last three years.
Services were held Sunday afternoon, Feb. 27, at the Christian church with the Rev. Eldon Jandebeur in charge. Burial was in the Russell cemetery with the Woodman Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
