Harold Absher Sr., 69, of Haga Drive, Dublin, died Friday in Radford Community Hospital. He was a member of the Dublin Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Virginia S. Absher; two daughters, Mrs. Arthur G. (Nadine) Price. Christiansburg, and Mrs. William D. (Wanda) Croy, Blacksburg; one son, Harold Absher Jr., Narrows; one step-daughter, Mrs. Zebbie M. (Carolyn) Thompson, Dublin; one step-son, Charles W. Akers. Dublin. Also four sisters, Mrs. Dock R. Hunt and Mrs. Clarence B. Shelton, both of Roanoke; Mrs. Andren C. Hutton, New Castle, and Mrs. Kermit D. Spence, Blacksburg; three brothers, C. Frazier Absher, Stewartsville, J. Creed Absher and William T Absher, both of Blacksburg; and one half brother, Avery W. Absher, Milpitag, CA; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at the Hoy Funeral Chapel, Blacksburg. with the Rev. Malcolm Cadd. officiating. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Dublin Baptist Church and the Pulaski County Life Saving Crew.
