Minnie "Dee" Brink, 83, of Sheldon died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethel Reformed Church in Sheldon, with the Rev. Gary Vande Kamp officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon.

Mrs. Brink was born March 23, 1915, near Archer, Iowa, the daughter of Louis and Josiena (Drost) DeVries. She attended country school and graduated from Archer High School. She attended Sheldon Junior College and the Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She taught school in Maurice, Iowa.

She married Edwin Brink on June 6, 1940, at Archer. The couple lived in the Maurice area before moving to Paullina, Iowa in 1961. While in Paullina, they owned and operated Brink's Hardware Store, retiring in 1975. He died July 1, 1982, in Paullina. She moved to Sheldon in 1987.

She was a member of Bethel Reformed Church.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Wilma of Sheldon; a daughter and her husband, Ruth and Tom Abeles of Minneapolis, Minn.; four grandchildren, Kari Duffy, Jari, and Katrina Brink and Christopher Abeles; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Joe DeVries of Sheldon.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
