"Elizabeth Yvonne Aanderud was born Sept 12, 1930, in Hobert, OK the daughter of Arthur & Mabel (Byrd) Ormand. At the age of 7, she moved to Cheyenne, OK, attended school & graduated from high school there. She then moved to Oklahoma City, attended Draughn's Business School, took singing lessons & worked as a filing clerk.
On Oct 16, 1953, she married Rodger Aanderud in Alameda, CA. They returned to North Dakota in 1956, living at Maddock, Churchs Ferry & Leeds. In 1972, they moved to Michigan, ND, where Elizabeth had a daycare center in her home. She later worked as a cook and waitress at the Kite Cafe in Michigan and at the Sunlac Inn at Lakota.
Elizabeth was a member of the Michigan Lutheran Church & its WELCA; served as Judge for the City of Michigan & for 16 years did the laundry for the Michigan Ambulance Service.
Survivors include her husband, Rodger; 2 sons: Michael of Mesa, AZ & Lee of Columbia, SC; 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Donna & Allan Popowski of Devils Lake & Amanda & Brian Boxall of San Jose, CA; 2 grandchildren: Alicia & Derek Popowski of Devils Lake; 3 brothers: Arthur Eugene Ormand of Cheyenne, OK, Charley Ray Ormand & Lloyd Ormand both of Mangum, OK; 2 sisters: Anna Bell McGlothlin of Spring Valley, CA & Peggy Cunningham of Cadiz, KY; several nieces & nephews and her special children the Hendrickson's of Lakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Arlene and a sister, Dorothy."
